Little Kook

When you think of Christmas decorations, Little Kook go all out. A themed café in the heart of Athens, with delicious desserts and hot beverages, it’s the place to be during a cold Christmas morning. Getting a table can be quite challenging, but even if you don’t manage to experience the food, it’s definitely worth a visit to check out the fairytale like decorations.

Similar to Little Kook, Noel, as the name suggests, is the ultimate Christmas destination. Open for brunch, lunch, dinner or cocktails, you can pop by at any time of the day and get that warm feeling of Christmas. Delicious food and beverages, it’s perfect for couples or families. Make sure to try the Christmas special cocktails and recipes!

Stroll around Syntagma Square

Stroll around Athens’ main square, which is decorated every year with fairy lights and a big Christmas tree. Sometimes, decorations include a small boat as, according to tradition, this is what Greeks used to decorate many years ago. The reason behind this is that Greek culture was always around the sea and boats and most Greeks used to sail abroad and work in boats. Children would then decorate a small boat at home as a symbol of expectation of their loved ones to return home. Unfortunately, this tradition did not manage to survive throughout the years as it symbolises the sad feelings of separation.

Afternoon tea at Grand Bretagne Hotel

Hotel Grand Bretagne is a landmark in Athens and is always elegantly decorated during the Christmas period. Make a booking for afternoon tea and enjoy a relaxing evening with delicious sandwiches and treats under the sound of smooth music and Christmas ambiance.

On Christmas and New Year’s Eve, most restaurants and hotels offer set dinner menus but a reservation is required. If you are spending these festive days in Athens, our staff will be more than happy to make a reservation on your behalf at the restaurant of your choice.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
